Welcome to Kansas AgriTourism!

This website has been developed specifically for Kansas farmers and ranchers involved in AgriTourism, rural properties where the traveler has an opportunity to experience farm and country life far from the hustle of the city.
The site is a project of the Kansas Agritourism Advisory Council, working in cooperation with:
the Kansas Agriculture Marketing Division and the Travel and Tourism Division of the Department of Commerce
and with financial assistance from Frontier Farm Credit.
We invite you to explore this website to find a variety of articles and resources that will help you succeed in agritourism.
If you have any questions, please contact the Department of Commerce, Travel and Tourism Division, and ask for the Agritourism Liaison.

Articles and Resources

These articles and resources are collected from three sources:

  1. Kansas Agritourism Destinations and Agritourism Articles
These case studies examine various Kansas Farms and Ranches to explore what they offer, how they attract customers, how they plan their programs and expansion, what works, and what doesn't work. These articles were monthly features in the Kansas AgriTourism News, a monthly e-newsletter published from March, 2005, to December, 2007. (Click to read.)

  2. Agritourism Articles by Jane Eckert, AgriTourism Consultant
Jane Eckert, the founder of Eckert AgriMarketing, is a nationally recognized expert in AgriTourism and AgriMarketing, and was recently presented the 2005 Leadership Award by the North American Farm Direct Marketing Association. Jane has devoted herself to helping thousands of tourism professionals and farmers grow their profits through AgriTourism.

Jane worked directly with the development of the Kansas AgriTourism Initiative in 2004, and also served as the consultant to the state in 2005. Part of the 2005 project was the establishment of this website.

Eckert AgriMarketing provided the writing and maintenance for this website along with the electronic newsletter, Kansas Agritourism News, under guidance of the Kansas Agritourism Council from March 2005 to December 2007. (Click to read.)

  3. Kansas AgriTourism News
